What is Microblading?
Microblading is the latest innovative procedure geared towards giving you the most natural-looking, thick, and shapely eyebrows of your life. Also called eyebrow embroidery, feathering, or etching, Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup solution that, thankfully, differs from the eyebrow tattoos we’ve seen in the past. Whereas traditional eyebrow tattoos deposit a heavy layer of dark ink without taking into account a person’s natural brow shape, Microblading uses a very fine series of acupuncture needles to deposit pigment into the epidermis using the “hairstroke” technique. In other words: your brows won’t appear too dark or inky and your current eyebrows will seamlessly blend in to give you a natural appearance.
How does the process work?
You will receive all of the necessary before care information once you schedule your appointment. The day you meet with your technician, she will do a 20-30 minute consultation which includes discussing your brow goals, measuring and mapping out the shape, and choosing the appropriate color. A numbing cream is then applied, making the procedure less painful than a typical wax. Once the numbing cream has taken effect, you will lie down and the technician will begin etching in the outline of the brow. This outline is done to both brows and then pigment is placed on the brows to soak in for 5 minutes.
Then, it’s time for the second pass. This is where the technician will go back in and add in the detail strokes and finish up the Microblading. Pigment is again placed on the brows to ensure every stroke receives proper color saturation. The whole procedure lasts anywhere from 2 to 2.5 hours and a follow up appointment is scheduled for 5-6 weeks out. At your following up, the tech will put back in any pigment lost in the healing process, and tweak any imperfections. Once your second appointment is complete, you should be good to go for 12-18 months!
Remember, this procedure is semi permanent. Microblading is an art and a science and is a fantastic, low maintenance option to filling in and shaping your brow everyday! Microblading has become popular with beauty enthusiasts who want to give their brows some heft, but it’s also doing wonders for those who suffer from overplucking, alopecia, trigonometrical, or anyone undergoing chemotherapy treatments

Other Frequently Asked Questions
Does the application hurt?
We want to make sure that your experience is as pain free as possible. A strong topical anesthetic will be applied to numb the area before and during Microblading. Clients may experience a slight discomfort. Some describe it as feeling scratches or a light sunburn.
How long is the healing time?
Even though your new look will be ready right after your appointment, light redness and swellings is normal. It will take 7-14 days for your eyebrows to completely heal and up to one month for the color to fully set in. During this time, it is important to follow the simple after-care advice and treatment.
How long will Microblading last in my skin?
The length of the pigment on your skin will depend on your skin type and routine. Ideally, Microblading lasts up to 2 years. To ensure it’s length, follow-ups are highly encouraged about 6 weeks after your first application (to get full effects and minor touch-ups) and every 12 months-18 months.
Factors that make microblading pigment fade faster:
- Oily skin
- Iron deficiency
- Tanning frequently
- Sun exposure
- Certain medications
- Not following proper aftercare instructions
How do you choose a pigment color?
We go over your eyebrow outline with a custom mix of high-quality pigments that match your eyebrow hair and skin. Ultimately the client, along with the advice and knowledge of our technician, will select the desired shape and color.
Who is not eligible for Microblading?
- People who use accutane
